Tom Clift

Senior Consultant

Tom is a senior consultant with over twenty years’ experience, specialising in the delivery of complex commercial partnerships, strategic projects, major international sports events, and global marketing campaigns.

Tom led the Commonwealth Games Project Delivery team, and was responsible for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games venue and village operational, and logistical commitments at the University of Birmingham. Prior to this, Tom was the Senior Programme Manager, Special Projects and Major Events at West Midlands Growth Company, where he led the strategic planning, implementation, and operational delivery of a new, three-year, £24m business and tourism program to maximise the economic impact and benefits from the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Tom has worked with universities, Local Authorities, and the wider private and charitable sectors. As a Prince2 Practitioner, he has strategic and operational experience of multiple major sporting and cultural events, at the Olympic, World, and European levels, including: Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Rugby League World Cup 2021, Rugby World Cup 2015, and London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. He has experience of four Olympic and three Commonwealth Games since 2002 as a key Games delivery partner, administrator, ambassador or volunteer.
