Swiss-Belhotel International currently manages a portfolio of more than 145 hotels, resorts and projects located in 21 countries with a main focus on the Indonesian market. Swiss-Belhotel International is one of the world’s fastest-growing international hotel and hospitality management groups and has been awarded Indonesia’s Leading Global Hotel Chain for seven consecutive years.
Each year the company organises a week-long conference for their General Managers in Indonesia. This event features sessions on thought leadership and roundtable sessions all delivered by leadership from across the company.
On the final day of the conference we delivered a simulation exercise for all GM’s in attendance. 100 General Managers were split into teams, competing against each other within a single marketplace. This was highly competitive and a great way to end their time together.
The key issues addressed within this exercise were
- How to formulate and apply business decisions utilising the information and tools available to managers in the hospitality industry
- Apply analytical techniques to a given hotel industry scenario to determine the current state and deliver rational plans for future operations to achieve realistic goals
This session was designed to draw together the learnings from the previous conference days and provide all attendees with an environment to put this all into practice. There was a real buzz within the room and all of the feedback from the session was very positive.
