The University of Reading received its Royal Charter in 1926. Several campuses are situated in and around the town of Reading, with a student population of some 23,000. The University has a long tradition of research, education and training at a local, national and international level.
Following the delivery of a campus wide catering strategy encompassing space and financial modelling, operation resource planning and brand architecture, Russell Partnership Collection was commissioned to lead the design of six new branded student catering outlets across campus, as well as the 700m² / 15,000 meal a day central production kitchen.
The overarching catering strategy for the future development of food and beverage at the University of Reading was delivered successfully and has provided a commercial framework for optimal revenue generation and measurement. Design support for architecture has aligned food outlets with the estates strategy, and the design and development of central production unit is now fully integrated into operations and providing improved efficiencies.
